Who We Are

Welcome to the worship center of the Uncommon Champions, where the Uncommon God does the Uncommon things. Immanuel Fellowship Church (IFC) is a member of the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada. We are a Bible-believing community committed to living out God’s Word as the foundation for every area of our lives.

At IFC, we strive to be a place of meaningful and lasting Christian friendship, where relationships are built on love and encouragement. We are also a place of learning, devoted to studying the Bible and applying its teachings to guide and transform our lives.

Our church is a welcoming space for people of all ages and diverse backgrounds, offering opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Following the example of Jesus, we are passionate about serving others with love and humility. Above all, we are worshippers who seek to worship God in Spirit and in Truth, and live a life of discipleship according to the word of God, dedicating our hearts and lives to Him.

OUR STORY
1995
A NEW BEGINNING

The disciples were drawn together by the love that Christ shared generously. They began to pray together. They began to share what they had so that no one lacked. They became devoted to the study and the teaching of the word. They were devoted to fellowship, and to the sacred breaking of bread. They ate together with glad and sincere hearts, continually praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Just like that! As it was in the Bible, so it was in the beginning of Immanuel Fellowship. A small seed that was sown in 1994 by Pastor Deborah Adelodun (who would later become Deborah Olukoju), a graduate of Providence Theological Seminary, started attracting the first members of the congregation in trickles in 1995/96.

It was meant to be just a gathering of Jesus lovers. God turned the gathering into Jesus lovers’ church when Heritage Missionary Church, the mother ministry at the time, decided to hand over the church properties to Immanuel Fellowship Church (IFC) in 1998 when it became obvious that Immanuel Fellowship’s geometric growth could only be another signature of God. That year, our denomination, the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada, officially recognized IFC as a full-fledged church plant. God has never stopped working His miracles since then!

2025
WHERE WE ARE

Today IFC has over two dozen pastors, coordinators and ministry leaders under the able leadership of Rev. (Dr.) Sunday Akin Olukoju and Rev. (Dr.) Deborah Olukoju. The Lord has added so many members to the fold, just as He has raised so many leaders. The Ministry now has two locations in the city of Winnipeg with over 20 IFC ministries catering to the diverse needs of members, neighbors, family members, friends, and the entire community.

The children ministry in particular is bursting at the seams with a yearning need for space to accommodate our burgeoning children ministry. IFC is blessed with phenomenal teachers of the word, compassionate disciples and disciplers, and a prayer warrior group that is always on fire, praying around the clock for His Kingdom to come.

MILESTONE

When God is up to something, He leaves human beings scrambling! We started running two services in 2006 when our regular single Sunday service was always full to capacity. In 2012, God enabled us to pay off the mortgage on our church building. And we continued the two Sunday services at the Silverstone location for several years until we decided to expand our worship space to accommodate more seats.

Miraculously, and totally beyond our making, the Lord opened up a 600-seater second location at the old St. Vital area close to the heart of the city in 2013. Another milestone worthy of mention is how IFC became a drama-evangelizing local assembly. God connected us to the Mount Zion International Drama Ministry in 2009, and through a wonderful partnership and mentorship, a total of six full Christian drama films had been produced, to the glory of God, between 2009 and 2022! All the movies are freely available on YouTube. And more movies are still to come!!

BEYOND
FOR WINNIPEG AND BEYOND

IFC desires to see God glorified in the life of every member. It is our desire to see more leaders raised, more disciples and disciplers made, and more unbelievers prayed into God’s Kingdom.

It is our desire to see more local assemblies established, more communities reached, and more kingdoms conquered for Christ. It is our desire to see individuals and marriages flourish in the display of the fruit of the spirit while families and communities rejoice in praising God without ceasing.

Our Values

Why we exist as a local church

Making Disciples

To proclaim the whole counsel of God as revealed in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, being a teaching church.

Accountability to God and One another

To establish a system of accountability, holding people responsible for their lifestyles and disciplining those who unrepentantly rebel against God’s standards.

Living by the Word of God

To maintain a comprehensive view of ministry by applying Scripture to every area of life, thereby impacting every member of the family.

Service

To provide opportunities for members to use their spiritual gifts and skills to serve others.

Evangelism

To cultivate a passion for winning people to Christ, helping them grow in faith, and making evangelism and discipleship our goal.

Providing a Helping Hand

To support the weak, help the needy, care for widows and widowers, and encourage the brokenhearted. We also strive to reach out to those who are less fortunate.

Giving Cheerfully

To teach our members that giving is an act of worship to God and should be practiced daily in obedience to biblical principles.

Raising Godly Families

To teach and establish the biblical concept of a godly family in today’s society, highlighting God’s expectations for each member within the family system.
